The Seychelles Coco de mer...


The Seychelles coco de mer has certainly been in the news of late with the the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge receiving a gift of a coco de mer when departing the Seychelles Islands after their honeymoon in May 2011.

This amazing fruit has some interesting life stories of its own...

Seychelles Coco de Mer

The coco de mer was originally known as a Maldive Coconut .The hollow nuts would fall from the trees and be carried by the sea to the coastline of Maldives where it would be gathered and was valued as an important item for trade.
