Seychelles beach Anse Forbans |
Race details:
Sunday, May 22 is the first race of the Seychelles Regatta and its starts at Eden Island and ends at Anse à La Mouche on the island of Mahe. Passing Anse Forbans and Chalets d' Anse Forbans.
Monday, May 23, the sailors will sail from Anse à La Mouche to Beau Vallon which is a famours tourist spot on the island of Mahe.
Tuesday May 24th the sailors will leave Beau Vallon on Mahe and sail to Anse Lazio beach on the island of Praslin.
On Wednesday, May 25, the sailors will race from Anse Lazio to Baie Ste Anne on the island of Praslin. Praslin is well known for its Nature Reserve where the Coco de mer grows wild.
Thursday, May 26 will see the sailors race from Baie Ste Anne to the island of La Digue. La Digue is known for its most famous beach of Anse Source d' Argent. Most defintely worth a trip to see.
The 6th race on Friday, May 27 will be from La Digue Island to Ile Chauve Souris Island off Praslin.
The final day of racing will be May 28th where the sailors and their teams will race from Praslin to Eden Island at Mahe, which they have to reach before 1:00 pm on Saturday, May 28.
Many famous names in sailing are among the teams competing in the Seychelles Regtta of 2011. Among the sailors are: Michel Desjoyeaux; Samantha Davies who will skipper the all-female Heineken team with Servane Escoffier; Loïck Peyron who will sail the Maia boat after winning the Barcelona double-handed round-the-world race on April 4; François Gabart winner of the Solo offshore sailing in 2010; Armel Le Cléac'h; Jérémie Beyou;and Romain Attanasio.
