Mothers Day or most commonly referred to as Mothering Sunday dates back in history to the the era of ancient Greek and Romans. 

Interestingly it can be celebrated on two different dates in a calendar year- I vote you celebrate both! It can be either on the Fourth Sunday of the Christian fasting month of Lent, or else the Second Sunday in May. It is celebrated in 46 countries worldwide but still its rationale is that of an opportunity to honor your mothers, thank them for their efforts in giving you life, raising you and being your constant support and well wisher.
