Things to do in the Seychelles- Seychelles Tea Plantation and Tavern

We continue our series of what to do in the Seychelles with the Seychelles Tea Tavern and Plantation situated at Morne Blanc Mahe Island. The tea plantation in Seychelles started in 1945 but only in 1966 did tea production commence.They have just announced new favours to add to their ongrowing expansions.

The new six aromatic flavoured teas and one branded tea are SeyTé Lemon Tea, SeyTé Mint Tea, SeyTé Strawberry Tea, SeyTé Vanilla Tea, SeyTé Black Tea and SeyTé Cinnamon Tea. There is also the branded SeyTé The Silver Tips. All the teas are produced locally at the STC’s tea factory at Morne Blanc.

You can purchase these teas at the Tea Tavern or the Local Duty Free Shop located in Victoria as well as the Duty Free at the Seychelles International airport. Plans are to extend its sales base to all local shops.

With the seven new tea products the STC tea factory is now producing 28 varieties of tea which are very popular with locals and tourists.
