Piracy in the Seychelles Islands

Masons Travel a destination management company in the Seychelles recently published this article on Piracy in the Seychelles in their Newsletter.

We thought you might appreciate an update:

"The Northwest monsoon period from October to April is a time when weather and sea conditions become favourable for maritime related activities. Such conditions are also conducive for pirates to operate over a wide area of the Indian Ocean and sometimes in close proximity to Seychelles. The Government of Seychelles is acting to preserve the safety of all seafarers and as a result may restrict the sailing of any hire craft and live aboard vessels to specific areas of the outer islands. All Seychelles islands which are inhabited or have tourism establishments are under constant surveillance and protection from sea and air, by the Seychelles armed forces and the European Union naval forces (EUNAFOR) in the region. The Seychelles government has the highest
priority for the safety of the Seychellois people and visitors alike and any person concerned should rest assured that the island resorts remain safe."

Chalets d' Anse Forbans offers Seychelles Self Catering Chalets on the beach of Anse Forbans on the main island of the Seychelles - Mahe. The chalets are ideally located for a relaxing holiday in the Seychelles.
